At Flossmoor Animal Hospital, we have state of the art diagnostic technology that will properly and accurately diagnose underlying conditions in your pet. Our hospital offers complete laboratory testing, radiographic imaging, and electro cardiograms. We also consult with specialists in internal medicine, cardiology, dermatology, oncology, ophthalmology, and surgery.

We provide the following diagnostic services:

Radiology

X-rays are the most common imaging tool we use to examine your dog or cat’s organs and their cardiopulmonary, gastrointestinal, reproductive, and urinary systems. This is a non-invasive procedure that allows the veterinarian to get a better look at the conditions affecting your pet.

When radiology is used:

• To find foreign objects or materials within the body that may have been ingested
• To diagnose fractures, bone and/or joint abnormalities, and various injuries
• To screen for abnormalities within the heart, lungs, urinary, and digestive organs
• To screen for some types of cancer

Ultrasound

This is a non-invasive and pain-free imaging device that allows us to see what is going on within the internal organs of the body. Real-time results are received by sound waves traveling into the body thus returning 3-dimensional images of the internal organs. These high-definition images allow our skilled veterinarians to see how the organs are functioning and how the blood of your dog or cat is flowing during the time of the ultrasound.

Laboratory

We have an in-house laboratory and state-of-the-art equipment that allows us to evaluate and diagnose your pet’s health in an emergency. No need to find a specialty veterinary hospital – we provide it within our hospital. We have saved many pets that required immediate, life-saving attention and continue to do so. We can immediately diagnose the problem and work to save your pet’s life within minutes.

Blood Pressure Monitoring

We monitor your pet’s blood pressure while under anesthesia, suffering shock, or in other life-threatening conditions. We also evaluate your pet’s blood pressure during routine annual or biannual check-ups.

Anesthesia Monitoring

While your pet is under anesthesia, we monitor all vitals to make sure your pet is safe and unharmed. We monitor your pet’s heart activity, ECG, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, respiratory system, and temperature throughout every stage of surgery.
